Polanian Machine Gunner - Unit of the Polania Republic. The squad is equipped with machine guns. Effective against infantry units. Like grenadiers, they have a low movement speed.
Historical Context
Polanian machine gunners inherit the traditions of Polish machine gun crews from the period of the Great War. In the Polania Republic, machine gunners have become a symbol of firepower, combining historical reliability with tactical versatility.
Tactical Role
Machine gunners are a specialized unit for suppressing enemy manpower. Their weapons, heavy machine guns, provide high fire density, allowing them to quickly neutralize infantry and hold key positions.
Usage Features
Most effective when defending resource points or narrow passages, where one squad can hold off a numerically superior enemy. Machine guns deal significant damage even to heroes (without armor) and can disrupt attackers' plans by slowing down enemy advance. Combined with infantry or anti-tank units, machine gunners become the core of the defense, suppressing the enemy until heavy machinery arrives.
Like any other infantry unit, machine gunners can change their infantry class by picking up weapons from the ground.
Weaknesses
Movement speed is 25% lower than standard infantry, which makes retreat difficult and makes them an easy target for artillery or flank attacks. Creating machine gunners requires a level two barracks, limiting their use in the early stages of the game.
