SKS 156 «Wotan» — eight-legged spider-like machine destroyer equipped with a twin long-range cannon. Belongs to the class of specialized anti-tank mechs.
Development History
The development of «Wotan» began in response to the need to create an effective means of combating enemy heavy equipment. Designers aimed to create a mobile platform with high firepower capable of hitting targets at considerable distances. The mech received its name in honor of the supreme god of Germanic-Norse mythology — Wotan (Odin).
Technical Specifications
The eight-legged design provides high stability when firing. The mech is equipped with a twin long-range cannon with impressive penetration capability. With basic weaponry, it deals 170 damage to light armor, 120 to medium, and 130 to heavy armor. A distinctive feature is the ability to destroy entire units of infantry with a single accurate shot.
Combat Use
«Wotan» is effectively used to support allied heavy mechs and destroy enemy artillery. The mech is capable of hitting targets from a safe distance, making it a valuable asset in tactical operations. Particularly effective against artillery installations and enemy heavy equipment.
The effectiveness of «Wotan» directly depends on maintaining a safe distance. The mech demonstrates high efficiency when supporting offensive operations and protecting strategically important points. Especially effective as an anti-tank asset capable of hitting targets at considerable range.
Weaknesses
The main disadvantage is low survivability and vulnerability at medium and close ranges. The mech is particularly vulnerable to machine destroyers from Polania and Rusvet, as well as the Serp mech, which can pose a serious threat when closing in. Requires constant support from allied forces to ensure safety.
Veteran Improvements
Upon reaching the first veteran level, the mech gains the ability to launch paired rockets dealing 143 damage to heavy armor. At the second veteran level, there is a significant increase in firepower: damage increases to 220 against light armor, 156 against medium, and 169 against heavy armor.
Usage Recommendations
For maximum mech effectiveness, it is necessary to:
- Maintain a safe distance from the enemy
- Use cover when possible
- Operate under the cover of allied forces
- Avoid direct confrontation with enemy machine destroyers
- Prioritize targeting artillery installations and heavy equipment
When used correctly, «Wotan» can become a key element of fire support, providing a significant advantage on the battlefield. However, it requires careful planning of actions and constant coordination with allied forces.
