Rusviet Medics — a specialized medical support unit of the Rusviet Armed Forces, providing health restoration for infantry units on the battlefield.

Historical Context

Unlike medics of other factions, who serve as field surgeons, Rusviet medics act as military chaplains, predominantly Orthodox. In addition to medical assistance, they perform spiritual functions, including conducting last rites for wounded and fallen soldiers.

Appearance and Equipment

Medics wear uniforms similar to vanguard units, but in gray-black colors with minimal decorations. Their distinctive features include:

  • Kamilavka instead of a ushanka
  • Golden censer worn around the neck
  • Medical bag and backpack with medical supplies

Medics are armed with modified M1895 Nagant revolvers, using 7.62×38mmR cartridges and unique gas seal systems.

Combat Application

Primary Functions

The unit performs the following tasks:

  • Full health restoration for infantry units
  • Setting up first aid stations
  • Supporting frontline units on the battlefield

Usage Features

Medics are most effective when:

  • Positioned in the rear of combat units
  • Providing assistance to units outside the firing zone
  • Establishing stationary medical posts after reaching veteran level

Limitations and Disadvantages

The unit has several limitations:

  • Low combat effectiveness
  • Vulnerability to machine gun fire and mechs
  • Inability to self-heal
  • Consumption of resources and time for treatment
  • No training capability in Rusviet barracks

Development and Upgrades

Veteran Abilities With increasing unit level, the following capabilities become available:

  • Establishing stationary medical posts
  • Providing frontline force restoration

Conclusion

Rusviet medics play a critical role in maintaining the combat effectiveness of infantry units. Despite their limited combat capabilities, their ability to restore health and set up medical posts makes them an essential element of tactical planning. Proper use of medics significantly increases the survivability and effectiveness of infantry units in combat operations.
